UNLV Football gets routed by FCS Southern Utah 41-16

LAS VEGAS
So the unthinkable happened last week, the UNLV Rebels, an 18 point underdog upset Hawaii in the Rebels home opener 40-20. I was on vacation in Denver and heard about it on national television and sports radio.

Fast forward to this week, UNLV was actually a 10-point favorite to Southern Utah of the FCS (think division 2).

The Rebels got routed by Southern Utah 41-16.

It could of been a close game, although UNLV committed 5 turnovers including 3 interceptions that were returned for touchdowns.

Sure, UNLV looked horrible earlier this season in losing to Washington State 59-7.

To go down like bitches to a Football Championship Subdivision team, that's just bad.

Who knows why we gave Coach Bobby Hauck a 2 year contract extension that puts him under the reigns through the 2014 season.

This sure isn't Montana.

Hauck, who previously coached at Montana, leading the Grizzlies to an 80-17 record in 7 seasons with playoff appearances each season and 4 trips to National Championship games and losses in each.

His record at UNLV is a dismal 3-14.

I bet Bishop Gorman, the top High School Football team in Nevada and one of the nations best could even beat the Rebels.

Especially after the way they played against Southern Utah.

I am glad I don't have season tickets, at least there is one thing for Rebel fans to look forward to....

Basketball Season.

Denver Broncos fans, Change is needed

Change is needed Broncos Fans.

I expect the Broncos to lose the next 6 games with the next Broncos win coming November 13th against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. Arrowhead is a tough place to play at but the Chiefs, still in lockout mode, have looked terrible after winning the division in 2010.

The Broncos barely escaped to win last week against the Cincinnati Bengals at Mile High. Kyle Orton only threw for 195 yards and it seemed like the Broncos played conservative at times using a balance between pass and run to squeak out with a victory.

Sure a win is a win, well needed after the Broncos let the Oakland Raiders come to Mile High the first week of the season and embarrass the team on national television in a game highlighted by Sebastian Janikowski's 63 1/2 yard field goal (I've seen enough footage to believe that it should be a 64 yarder, thus a record for the longest field goal) and Tebow chants throughout the stadium.

Tebow who? Tim Tebow, The Florida Gators savior who the Broncos took in the first round in the 2010 NFL Draft.

Sure I find it pretty classless that Bronco fans chanted Tebow during the week one loss to the Raiders but let's face it Orton sucks and its evident that the Broncos feel that he won't be their starter in the future as they explored a trade with the Dolphins in July.

Change is needed in Bronco Nation. Sure the Broncos won't win many games these next few weeks but they just might win two games with Tebow as the starter instead of one.
